We flew United Airlines and had a great experience. We took a redeye flight from SNA to EWR then we took another flight to PWM. Arrived in the morning around 10 and picked up our puppy right away. Went back to the airport at 11.30pm for our 4pm flight. We entertained him with toys while waiting for our flight. He went potty twice on potty pads. The flights were pretty empty so we took out our puppy almost the entire time. (There was no one else in our row) The flight attendant saw the puppy out the carrier and didn’t say anything (I assumed it was ok)
Do’s:
- Bring potty pads for potty breaks
- Bring wipes in case of potty accidents
- Introduce the travel carrier to your puppy with treats
- Tire out your puppy before the flight
- We brought a travel mat, in case the floor was dirty
- Blanket with litter scent in the carrier
- Feed at least an hour before flight so the puppy has time to go potty
- Bring water and food for the puppy
- Bring toys
Don’t’s:
- Leave the puppy in the carrier the whole time
- Feed right before the flight (he pooped in the carrier because of this)
- Use airport potty areas
