SAVE THE DATE: Sunday, October 11, 2020 for GOLDIVA GOLDENS REUNION @ Cumberland Fairgrounds!
We mailed out 985 Holiday cards with the reunion invitation to buyers from the past 30 years. Any Goldiva Buyer or FaceBook Friend of Goldiva’s is welcome to bring their leashed dogs for our Reunion which will be held at the Cumberland Fairgrounds just 2 miles from our house. The address is 197 Blanchard Road, Cumberland, ME 04021. After we had 100 car reservations with 2-5 people per car and 1-2 dogs per car, we quickly realized “This is getting really BIG!” We have an easy 300-500 people coming! Now we’ve added Food Truck Vendors instead of a pot luck. Any Food Vendor is welcome to hook up at the Fairgrounds. We’ll send out a mailing the first week of Sept to get an accurate estimate so the food vendors know how much food to bring. We’ll add in a registration form on the website too. We have owners from near and far, far away…like from Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, all the New England States, even Quebec driving with their dogs just to visit the Goldiva clan. We’re hoping that All of our Co-owners for Boarding Contracts will bring past & present Champions for their “kids” to say hello, share stories and enjoy the day. All dogs will need to be on a leash and bring a poop bag. It’s Sunday, Columbus Day weekend 11:00-4:00. Please RSVP if you can join us. We will need to give the food vendors a rough idea of how many people need food or bring up a picnic lunch. The fall foliage should be beautiful and hopefully the weather will be perfect! I’m up for any suggestions and helpers. I need someone for check-in and make name labels. Portland Camera Club Pres Steve Thomas (and Goldiva owner) and a few members will have a drone and cameras. We could have a Goldiva Parade (dog costumes optional) and make a video to share/buy?
We will need to make name tags from which litter your Goldiva dog is from so you can find siblings faster, like “Striker x Marilyn.” If our co-owners of Boarding Contract dogs can wear a RED shirt, I’m hoping you will look like a beacon.
